The BCCI is all set to take the extreme step to end the reign of the former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi after its Special Governing Council meeting on Saturday. According to the media reports, BCCI is planning to slap a criminal case against the suspended IPL chief.
The BCCI is holding a Special General Meeting in Mumbai to discuss the replies of the showcause notices that were sent to Lalit Modi.
Chirayu Amin, Arun Jaitley, Jyotiraditya Scindia form the new committee that will hear the case against Modi.
There were also reports that the BCCI may also press criminal charges against Modi in several cases of financial irregularity in the IPL, which could also be the first step towards a possible life ban.
However, the three-point agenda circulated by BCCI secretary N Srinivasan on June 19 does not mention moving a motion to oust Modi.
As BCCI can’t discuss any issue not listed in the agenda, the chances of moving a motion against Modi with a 3/4th majority are nil.
But it’s a serious trouble time for suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi as all charges against him have been reportedly ratified.
