While it’s all good, the script often contradicts itself. At one point it treats infidelity and running into mafia with cheek, at others it acquires a critical tone. Loopy screenplay (by Gowariker and Naushil Mehta) aside, the humour is often subtle and refreshing. [Full Review]

WHAT’S YOUR RAASHEE?, unfortunately, lacks the power to keep you hooked and that’s the prime reason why its running time/length is sure to be criticised. [Full Review]

Watching “What’s Your Raashee” is like watching 13 episodes of a serial back-to-back and not a particularly engaging one at that. At some point, all the stories merge into one and you stop caring about who gets married to whom. [Full Review]

Only characters and interactions carry this story. When that becomes shaky, the pace, burdened with too many songs and some feeble comedy, goes into slow motion. And you are so exhausted that you can barely keep track of the girls or their sagas or why Yogesh does or doesn’t like them. [Full Review]

At times one may feel that Gowariker is better off doing period films that require a big scale production. Everyday films are just not his cup of tea. The problem? He makes it too normal. Too ‘everyday’. There’s a tale. But there’s no twist to it. There’s a heart. But it doesn’t have erratic BP. Rashee is too simple… almost mundane like everyday life. [Full Review]

If you want to see a nice movie that was screwed by songs, well, your hunt is over. ‘What's Your Raashee?,’ is one such movie.
Before the start of the movie, when I asked the family next to me, so how is this movie? The lady, next to her husband quipped – sorry, I have read that it is not a good movie. I replied. Well, we are in theater now so as well enjoy it.
The movie started. Brilliant casting with the title song. I was thinking that lady must have read wrong reviews. This movie is looking good. 10 minutes passed and I declared, no way, the movie “What's Your Raashee?”, could be a bad movie. What a start. What a story. And then the ugly truth started hitting.
Oh My God. How can, Asutosh G. could screw his brilliant movie. There was no need for him to put so many stupid songs. Untimely and unwanted songs (bad numbers) killed the movie. By the time, your reach the intermission, you are exhausted. You want to run out of theater. I could not, as I was sandwiched between 2 families who wanted to see till the end, just to find out who will be the chosen girl. Honestly, that was the only reason, why I also sat through the torture.
You may be wondering, how come I am saying a nice movie gone astray. So, what was nice in the movie “What's Your Raashee?”?
Well to start with brilliant story line. Credit goes to the Gujrati author of the book. Second, brilliant acting by Priyanka Chopra. She is looking slim and stunning. Third the main lead Mr Patel. I guess, he has also done well. Good to learn that he did MBA from Chicago join Accenture. Movie is colorful with decent comedy. Anjan Srivastava has also brought some fun into this movie. So, over all a good movie but will torture you with horrible and meaning less songs.
I am afraid, thus, I can’t give this movie ‘What's Your Raashee?’, the rating, any thing more than 3.50 on 5.0 stars.
Cheers!
